Holiday fund trips every two years

From 1 December 2023, a large group of employees under SIK can apply for a holiday fund trip to be held in 2024. This concerns the right to a paid holiday trip every two years, which SIK has obtained for the following groups of employees:

  • Commercial and office staff (agreement no. 315). (Commercial and office staff employed by the Self-Government of Greenland, The Danish State, Tusass A/S, A/S Inissiaatileqatigiiffik INI and the municipalities, who are not covered by another collective agreement.) 
  • Child care workers and social workers (agreement no. 326). (Employees who are trained child care workers and social workers, employed in Greenland’s Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities, who are not covered by another collective agreement.
  • Healthcare assistants and support persons (agreement no. 336). (Employees who are trained healthcare assistants and support persons, employed in Greenland’s Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities, who are not covered by another collective agreement.)
  • Interpreters and translators (agreement no. 367). (Interpreters and translators employed in Greenland’s Self-Government, the Danish State, Tusass A/S, A/S Boligselskabet INI and in the municipalities that are not covered by another collective agreement.)

If you belong to one of these groups, you thus have the opportunity to get such a trip, if you meet the established guidelines for awarding such a trip – but to be held from 1 April 2024 at the earliest. And in order to be able to use this contractual right, you must fill in a special online application form, which will be available on SIK’s website from 1 December.

In connection with an application for such a trip, the following documentation must be attached:

    • Last payslip.

    • The household’s residence certificate.

    • Employment contract.
